My Halloween 2010: Here Comes the Bride

Our division had a decor contest for the Halloween. The mechanics is to use recyclable materials in decorating each teams' aisle. My team is very competitive to join the contest., we had lots of ideas. The 1st idea is a scary train, but we decided not to pursue it because we might not be able to finish it for 2 days.  The 2nd idea is a Funeral, it's easy to do but that idea is so common. My team wanted something unique and we want to standout with the rest of our competitors. So my team came up with the "Black Ball" but it end up  to be a Transylvania Castle with a Bride. We started doing the decoration last October 14 and were done decorating it last October 15, 2010. Everyone is very cooperative and resourceful. I enjoyed doing the decorations especially when me and Alreen stuffing up the stockings  with shredded papers for the Bride's arms and legs. The shredder machine got overheat.. I  was so nervous.. I thought I broke it.. ahahahaa! Good thing, it worked again.  I was so excited to see the result of our team's hard work and creativity.. And the end result.. a Modern, Simple yet Elegant version of Scary Halloween. A lot of people in our office got scared of our "Bride", even the security guards. At the same time, there are a lot of my office mates took photos of my team's creation. The judgment day came, October 29,2010. We won the 2nd place in our Division Contest. I'm so happy. I'm so Proud of you Guys!!! Below are few photos of our decor.

Movie day with Karen: Eat, Pray and Love

We watched Eat, Pray and Love at Greenbelt 3. I was so thankful to Karen for inviting me out.. girl bonding time! I really miss hanging out with my college friends!.I used to watch movies and shop with them.. especially my dear friend Alma. I remember, when we were at College, we went to Greenbelt 1 to watch two movies on the same day.. hahaha! Oooppss.. I might reminisce too much. Pardon me.. I just really miss my  dear friends and the old times with them.

Eat, Pray and Love starred Julia Roberts. It's a story of a woman who travelled for a year to find herself. First she went to Italy, she ate lots of mouth-watering foods and she studied the Italian Language. After Italy, she went to India to find inner peace, self realization,  to learn accept things and learn to forgive herself. She did pray and meditation. After India, she went back to Bali, Indonesia, where she find her Love.

Eat, Pray and Love, in my opinion, is a good movie. I like the story, a woman who is in search of herself. Well, I think all of us can relate to it in different ways. In the movie it shows different places, cultures, and traditions, and how the character of Julia Roberts dealt with it. This movie touches my Heart as a woman.

There are two quotes that I liked in this movie:
1. Ruin is a gift, it is the way to transformation
2. Tutti is an Italian word for  Everybody

After the movie, we met Karen's cutee baby girl, Kaela, my inaanak at Shakeys Pizza.

Max's Kare-Kare at Tiendesitas

Last October 9, 2010, we visited Saint Monique Valais to check the unit of my auntie/tita. We were surprised of the electric bill, it's too high as in sky high.. the bill went up to
Php 42,926.15 even though there was no one living in the unit. The electric power box was tampered. Anyway, I don't want to rant about it. I checked out the vicinity, and there are units who already have gates. I was thinking if my tita can put up a gate too for security reasons.

After Saint Monique Valais, we went straight to Tiendesitas to have dinner. We decided to eat at Max's Restaurant. I ordered 3 Basic meal for the 2 kids and for my on-diet mode boyfriend and a Beef Kare-Kare for me and my mom.

The place is not that big but it's clean and the ambiance is homey. The servers are very accommodating and cheerful. They also sell different kinds of breads.

Max's Beef Kare-Kare

Bagoong

About the food, the chicken is delicious and crispy  because CatCat, my pamangkin, ate 2 cups of rice. The Beef Kare-Kare is delicious too, and it has lots of meats and veggies. The Bagoong is also good, it compliments the taste of Kare-Kare.The price of Kare-Kare is Php 325, a bit pricey for me but it's all worth it. My mom told me that she loves Max's Kare-Kare. And she kept on talking about it when we got home.

It's  another hearty dinner with my family. =)

Addicted to MineShine Milk Tea

This is my current addiction.. 7-11's Mine Shine Milk Tea. It cost Php 40. I used to drink the Belgian Choco (the bottle with a pirate and monkey) but when Dan (my teammate) introduced Mine Shine to me.. I switch! ahahaha! Mine Shine tastes better than the Belgian Choco in my opinion.

Buz Box Srambles

We saw this at Mall of Asia, we were so curious at that time why there were a lot of people bought this scramble.. so we tried. The verdict, the taste was good except for the strawberry syrup and the price is very cheap. Plus, I also noticed that the staffs didn't wear hand gloves. I strongly suggest they should implement wearing of  hand gloves because they're serving foods to customers. Will I come back? yes, if their staffs wear hand gloves. =p
