Afternoon date at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Greenbelt 3 Branch

It was another date day with my bf @ Ayala center, Makati. Our agenda that day was shopping. We started our searched in SM mall, then Glorieta, and last in Landmark. Unfortunately, I couldn't find what I want. Me and my bf were so tired and hungry after strolling around the 3 malls. We wanted to eat. That time it was me who decide where to eat snack and it's my treat.  You read it right.. "it's my TREAT". My bf was surprised when I said that because he knows that I'm  "kuripot" just like him. Well, I just gave him a big smile! He didn't know I have a buy one take one breakfast set coupon from my Belle de Jour planner.. hahahha! So we went to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I asked him what he want to eat and he said "ikaw na bahala".  And I smile again just like this ":D". I heard the magic words! hahahha!  I went to the counter and ordered our foods.

The Salmon Scramble (Php 229). I chose this because I already tried the Eggs Ben. The Salmon Scramble has Rosemary focaccia breads with smoke salmon, scramble eggs and a special dressing. It also has strawberry jam, butter and sweetened pruned fruits. The meal comes with a coffee or hot tea. I chose coffee. The taste? It's Yummy!!!

My coffee

The Break O'Day (Php 229). My bf's meal. It has panini breads, chicken sausage and scramble eggs. It also has strawberry jam and sweetened pruned fruits. My bf chose hot green tea for his drink. My bf's verdict.. it's yummy too!

Overall, we were very satisfied in our orders and it didn't hurt my pocket that much.. hahaha! Thank you Belle de Jour for the buy 1 take 1 coupon.

Will I come back to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf again? Of course! I will try their Food for Thought breakfast set plus I still have a few coupons left.

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin

I have been craving for this food for so long. The first time I had a taste of it was last year at Starbucks Coffee shop. Starbucks' version were Lemon Poppy Seed loaf and Honey Orange Poppy Seed loaf. Both were yummy. Too bad they stop serving these kind of loafs. And because of that, my search for Poppy Seed bread began.

Last Sunday, I accompanied my bf to buy some stuff in the grocery. We went to S&R, The Fort branch. I was hungry at that time so I checked the bread section of S&R, to my surprise I saw the food I'm craving for.. Poppy Seeds.. ahahha!  At first, I couldn't believe it so I read again the label and it made me smile.. a big smile. So, I bought a set of Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins for Php180. The muffins were big. I was so happy at that time.. it was a Eureka moment for me.

After doing the grocery, we went to Starbucks to buy a Chocolate Chip frappe with roasted coffee Jelly to be paired with my Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin. It's the best snack combination for me.

WARNING. Don't eat Poppy Seed if you'll having a drug test. Why? You'll get a positive result. Myth Buster already proven it. Poppy Seed and heroin came from the same plant Opium Poppy. The unripe seeds or pods are the culprit not the ripe Poppy seeds. IThe unripe seeds has opiates that causes the result to be positive. However,  the ripe Poppy Seed has many health benefts such as:
  •  it has zinc, copper, calcium, iron, thiamin and magnesium which helps in fighting disease.
  • reduces heart attacks  and prevents breast cancer
  • lowers cholesterol
  • stabilizes blood sugar

The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's Frozen Swirls

Thanks to Belle  de Jour for a  buy 1 take 1 promo coupon of Coffee Bean's Frozen Swirls. I ordered 2 large Caramel Affogato. It's Vanilla based with espresso and caramel. It tasted good, it's like a vanilla ice cream with a twist. I'm happy with the swirl even though I experienced a bad service at The Coffee Bean, Piazza branch. My original order was pomegranate, the server made me wait for so long, and he didn't informed me that the original blend was not available. Good thing, I followed up my order with the store manager and she suggested the Caramel Affogato. The store manager also gave me  a Php20 discount because of the long wait. The photo below is an un-swirled version of  Caramel Affogato (this one went to my friend, Archwin), why, because the server said he has no time to swirl it.. uh oh.. negative service points for you boy.

Dinner at G Squared Palutuan, Dampa, Sucat

My Tito just arrived from other country. He and his wife invited my family to have dinner. My mom suggested to have dinner at Dampa in Sucat. In Dampa, there's a lot of palutuan to choose from. After several minutes of scouting, finally, they chose G Squared Palutuan. It is located at the 2nd floor. The place is homey and clean.

The foods. My Tito ordered Buttered Garlic Shrimp. This one is my favorite. I like the version of G Squared.. yummy! I ate a lot of shrimps.

Sinigang sa Miso na  Maya-maya. This also delicious. I liked the taste, a mix of sourness and sweetness with fresh fish and veggies.

The Fried Chicken. They ordered this for the 2 kids, Jajan and Catcat. It's 1/2 Kilo but  seems not. The taste, the usual home cook fried chicken.

The Grilled Squid. I was surprised by it's color.. kinda different. Maybe I'm just used to Gerry's grill version of Grilled Squid.  The taste, just plain grilled squid.

I will visit G Squared again to try their version of  Chili Garlic crabs and their other specialties. Thank you Tito Muroy and Tita Nor for the sumptuous dinner.

Rai Rai Ken at SM Taytay

It was one Saturday morning, we were schedule to visit Nicole at Saint Monique Valais. Unfortunately, we woke up late. It was nearly lunch time when we arrived at Taytay, Rizal; so me and my bf decided to eat lunch first and to buy a chocolate cake for my pamangkin. So we went to SM Taytay. During that time, my bf was craving for ramen, glad we saw Rai Rai Ken, a Japanese Restaurant.

The foods. My bf ordered Chasyu Ramen (Php195). He said that the ramen tasted good, and I agree because he finished the large bowl  all by himself. Chasyu Ramen is one of the best seller based from their menu. It has slices of roast pork, menma and egg in a Soy sauce soup.

I ordered the Rairai Ken Bento (Php285). It has beef, shrimp tempura, chicken lollipops, and deep fried gyoza; serve with miso soup, rice and veggie sidings. What I like with my order are the miso soup, chicken lollipops and shrimp tempura. In my honest opinion, there's nothing special with this bento, this is great if you are really hungry.

Will I visit again Rai Rai Ken resto? Of course I will, they have other great dishes.

World's Chicken at Greenbelt 1

World's Chicken, I love their grilled boneless chicken with ranch style sauce. But in the photo below, I tried the sweet chili sauce and it also goes well with the chicken and the bacon rice. Yumyum!
